MORE TYPE-MOON?!!
More great news….though some of it gives me a mixed reaction.
The anime-media reporting site Seasons of Change recently showed Type-Moon relatyed magazine scans which give more information on “Mahoutsukai no Yoru”, and information on two new game that they will be making: A remake of their 2000 visual novel Tsukhime, and different game “Girls work”.
First of all. I love Tsukihime. It was an amazing atmospheric visual novel, and I loved it’s characters. A remake makes sense now as the original game is out of print and new engines are available (Type-Moon used nscripter for Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya, now they have now been using kirikiri for their Fate games). I think the most exciting aspect to some people will be the likely inclusion of a Yumizuka Satsuki route to the game. For those who don’t know. Satsuki (mostly called Satchin) was a character who didn’t have a route in the game and thus usually ended up not getting any romance with the protagonist (Tohno Shiki) because of unforgiving circumstances (ie. she turned into a vampire).
Type-Moon originally planned for her to have a route, and they have alot of concept art for it which was shown the Plus+Disc. And so now it seems they will be giving her a route.
New info for “Mahoutsukai no Yoru” is: the game may be an non-adult game. I don’t know why this would be the case, but I guess it surprised me abit because Type-Moon games do have good adult appeal. Either way I will play it if I can get my hands on it.
Other information shows that the lead artist will be Hirokazu Koyama who is also the artist for Type-Moon’s DDD novels. This is the mixed reaction for me cause I’m much more used to Takashi Takeuchi’s art for stories related to Tsukhime (but from the looks of it Takeuchi is doing the art for the Tsukihime remake which I’m really happy about)
Koyama is not a bad artist. I love his art for DDD (go here for some good examples). Guess I prefer Takeuchi’s art in some other way, especially his drawing of young Aoko.

Okay. Both look good.
EDIT: Once again Evospace has written a great article on this. Over at Akiba Channel.
EDIT2: Ok I’d just thought I should mention again that my favorite Tsukihime heroine is Akiha and so the remake makes me really excited over what they will be adding to her route (besides the remade CGs and possible voices). Though I guess I am no where near as excited as the leader of the fan club. ![]()
