Code Geass R2 01 - better than ever

Lelouch always begin with a nice chess game…before he leads armies

And thus finally the only thing I’ve been counting down the days for finally airs. And am I impressed? I guess more so than I should, because it paid homage to the first seasons beginning, managed to introduce the characters again quickly, and already started events to unfold. And just a few days ago I was alittle cautious that the series was be going to slow.

So I downloaded the raw (which thankfully was quickly and download in a less than half an hour)

First we have C.C.’s introduction of Brittania’s invasion of Japan and how years later Lelouch became Zero and led Black Knights to try and free Japan whilst having his own goal of destroying Brittania but the rebellion was crushed. The scene then cuts to what looks like Brittanian blimp/zeppelin/aircraft entering the Settlement in Japan Imean AREA 11!.

A woman’s voice is conferring with operator’s to gain passage. Then cuts to C.C.’s mouth….which then smiles (here’s when I start to smile aswell). We see the Black Knights (which are few) making a toast.

Next scenes are Lelouch at school (who does not have his serious/awesome nature). And now it seems he’s hanging out with his brother (here’s were everyone goes “Wha?” ) From there alot of other stuff happens. We see Lelouch is being spied on. Chinese Federation is meeting in Area 11’s governor (tyrannical as always). Shirley and Milly hanging out. Lelouch meeting Kallen in a bunny suit (Sunrise is such a tease) and not knowing here.

And finally alot of explosions and Lelouch in a situation like he was in the beginning of the first season. He meets C.C. who then restores Geass to him and restores his memory And then commands the Brittanians around him to die (which they do).

Last scene shows Suzaku meeting The Emperor and saying that he will killZero.

So we can surmise that the cliffhanger of season 1 ended a such. Lelouch managed to get to V.V. but Suzaku somehow managed to stop him from getting Nunally and captured him after getting he (Lelouch) lost Geass to V.V. from here I imagine Lelouch was brainwashed by either V.V. or the Brittanian Intelligence agency (or both) to keep him from remembering his life as Zero aswell as his deep relation with Nunally. From here we can see that Brittania knows Lelouch=Zero. And it seems they kept him alive to get the remaining Black Knights (and C.C.) captured. And boy did they fail.

The Black Knights and Kallen (who now know Zero=Lelouch) have worked with C.C. to get the rebellion back on track (thank god). I can’t help but love how they refer to Lelouch (without the mask) as “Zero-sama”. and How Lelouch also gets into his “I am Zero” rant (which I like).

Geass has impressed me once again. And I think it will remain my favorite anime for a long time. And since this looks to be the conclusion. I can think of alot of interesting discussions that will go around. In conclusion my willpower to avoid annoying spoilers has paid off and left me happy. (screenshots will come later….otherwise this looks lame)
